BIAC Members are invited to attend all IAgrM online 60-minute CPD sessions including the following one on ‘UNDERSTANDING NATURAL CAPITAL'
TUESDAY 21ST JULY 2020 - 12.30PM
Much has been written in the press about the shift of farm support to public good payments under ELMS. The phrase ‘natural capital’ is banded around in the farming press as the basis underpinning the new policy but there is a lot of misconception about what it is, how it is measured and why is it is so important for farmers and land managers.
Professor Dieter Helm CBE, Professor of Economic Policy at the University of Oxford and Chair of DEFRA’s Natural Capital Committee has agreed to join IAgrM members and guests for a webinar and Q&A which will be moderated by IAgrM Vice-Chairman, Carl Atkin.
Professor Helm has advised the Government on their 25 year Environment Plan. He is author of Natural Capital (Yale University Press) and Green and Prosperous Land (HarperCollins).
This will be the first of a series of webinars exploring the policy transition post Brexit – where will build on this very important baseline translating it into the policy implications in later sessions.
