BIAC Members Vote to Join New Society of Agriculture

Date Published: 23/06/2025

Following a recent consultation and an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held on 23rd June 2025, members of the British Institute of Agricultural Consultants (BIAC) have voted in favour of a proposal to join a newly formed Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), the Society of Agriculture.

This decision marks a major milestone in BIAC’s history. The new CIO, created in collaboration with the Institute of Agricultural Management (IAgrM) and registered with the Charity Commission under number 1212403, is set to bring together the expertise and strengths of both organisations. The aim is to build a unified body better positioned to support the agricultural profession and adapt to the sector’s evolving needs.

The formal transition to the Society of Agriculture is planned for 1st January 2026. Over the coming months, efforts will focus on finalising governance, financial structures, membership arrangements, and communications to ensure a smooth and effective transition.

BIAC members can expect continued access to valued services and support, along with new opportunities arising from this strategic alignment.

The BIAC Council expressed its gratitude to members for their engagement and support throughout the process and looks forward to shaping the future of the profession within this new, broader professional community.
