 RPA accept that game cover and wildbird cover is OT1 |
|   | Anthony Hyde, BIAC Chief Executive, reports that RPA have fully conceded that Game Cover is to be considerred to be land in production and should be coded as OT1. BIAC has led the fight on this issue and our correct interpretation of the regulations and common sense approach has brought about the right answer. The very important issue was to ensure that cross-compliance inspectors also interpreted this regulation correclty and do not apply OT2 and GAEL 12 conditions.

The Judges have been impressed with the quality of the applications for this new competition and following their assessment the successful entrants have been invited to submit their case studies by June 6th. From these a maximum of 5 will be chosen to go through to the final where the entrants will be asked to present their case to the panel who will in effect be "the client". Anthony Hyde, BIAC Chief Executive, says he is delighted with the response and it is heartening to know that there are very good young professionals who wish to make a career in the farming and agri-food/environment sectors.
